Ce SP1 n'apporte pas de nouveauté majeure, mais réunit les dernières mises à jours, renforce la sécurité, améliore la stabilité et les performances. Un service pack est toujours l'occasion de faciliter le déploiement dans les entreprises vrait satisfaire les commentaires soumis au support technique ainsi que les rapports d'erreurs envoyés...
Le SP1 de Windows Vista, quant à lui, est toujours en RC1 et sera disponible au grand public dès la semaine prochaine si les testeurs ne déclarent pas de gros problèmes
